Definition of a Swimming Pool A "swimming pool" is defined as any structure intended for swimming or recreational bathing that contains water over 24 inches deep. This includes: In-ground, above ground, on ground, temporary, and inflatable pools. Hot tubs and spas. Permit Application Procedure The process involves four main steps: 1. Compliance with Zoning Regulations Setback Regulations: The Borough has specific setback rules for pool placement found in Section 505 of the Zoning Ordinance. Plot Plan: Applicants must submit a drawing of the lot showing: Dimensions and existing structures (sheds, garages). Location of the proposed pool/spa and its distance from property lines.
