Election Overview

This document serves as the official notice for the 2026 General Primary election in Blair County, Pennsylvania. The election is scheduled for May 19, 2026. It provides instructions for military and overseas voters regarding absentee ballots and lists the candidates appearing on the Democratic and Republican ballots.

Voting Instructions

Voters may request an absentee ballot from the office at any time prior to the election. If a voter cannot receive and return an official absentee ballot in time, they are entitled to vote using the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB).

  • Registration: Voters can register and request an official absentee ballot using the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA).

  • How to Vote (FWAB): Refer to page 3 of the FWAB form.
    • President and U. S. Representative: Write the candidate's name in the space provided on the FWAB.
    • State/Local Offices and Ballot Initiatives: Write names in the Addendum Section of the FWAB.
      • Under Office/Ballot Initiative, enter the office or title of the referendum.
      • Under Candidate Name/Party Affiliation, list the candidate's name or write "yes" or "no" for referendum questions.

Democratic Ballot Candidates

The following candidates are listed for the Democratic Party ballot in Blair County:

  • Governor: Josh Shapiro (Montgomery County)
  • Lieutenant Governor: Austin Davis (Allgheny County)
  • Representative in Congress – 13th District: Beth Farnham (Adams County)
  • Senator in the General Assembly – 30th District: Sean Steeg (Huntingdon County)
  • Representative in the General Assembly – 79th District: Caleb McCoy (Logan Township)
    • District includes: City of Altoona, Allegheny Township, Logan Township, and the Borough of Tunnelhill.
  • Representative in the General Assembly – 80th District: Sarah Holland (Huston Township)
    • District includes: Boroughs of Bellwood, Duncansville, Hollidaysburg, Martinsburg, Newry, Roaring Spring, Tyrone, and Williamsburg; and Townships of Antis, Blair, Catharine, Frankstown, Freedom, Greenfield, Huston, Juniata, North Woodbury, Snyder, Taylor, Tyrone, and Woodbury.
