Tax Claim Office Notice for March 2026 The following updates and requirements apply to property owners regarding tax claims, returns, and judicial sales. Notice of Return & Claim Process Mailing: Notices for taxes turned over in January will be sent via Certified Mail. Action Required: You must return an electronic signature of the property to the Tax Claim Office. This serves as proof that you received the Notice of Return and Claim. Fee: A fee of $15. 00 is associated with and applied to each mailer. Consequences of Unsigned Mailers If the mailer is not signed as required by law: The property will be posted with the Notice of Return and Claim. An additional fee will be added to your claim for the cost of posting. Unpaid 2025 Taxes If you did not pay your 2025 taxes to the local tax collector and have not received a certified Return & Claim Notice: You must make arrangements to visit the Tax Claim Office. You are required to sign an affidavit to avoid having your property posted. Judicial Sale Petitions The Sheriff’s Office is serving Judicial Sale Petitions to all parties with a vested interest in properties going to the Judicial Tax Sale. Overbid petitions from the 2025 tax sales are being finalized. Hearing dates will be set at least 35 days after the petitions are mailed.
