Tax Collection Update for January 2026 Important Deadline: Local Tax Collectors must turn in unpaid taxes for the prior year (2025) by January 16, 2026 . Payment Processing: Payments for 2025 taxes cannot be accepted until the taxes are received into the system. There are 25 districts in the county, and processing can take a few weeks. Payments will only be accepted once a specific district has been settled and balanced. Residents are encouraged to call the office to check if their district is balanced before visiting the courthouse. Fees: There is a $15. 00 fee per tax turned in. Example: If you have County, Municipality, and School taxes, the total fee would be $45. 00.
