Overview of Electronic Filing System
The Pennsylvania Department of State has introduced a new online filing system to streamline campaign finance reporting. Filers are encouraged to use this method for efficiency, though traditional filing options remain available.
How to File Online
- Website: Filers can complete and submit reports directly through the Department of State website at www. dos. pa. gov/campaignfinance.
- Software Compatibility: Filers currently using Pennsylvania-compliant campaign finance reporting software may upload their information directly into the new system.
Important Requirements for Online Filers
While reports can be submitted online, specific physical documentation is still required:
- Notarized Cover Page: You must submit the notarized cover page of the report by mail or in person.
- Signatures: The physical submission must include the filer’s appropriate affidavits and signatures.
Alternative Filing Methods
The Department continues to accept reports via paper, diskette, or CD.
- Timeliness: Reports must be received by the filing deadline to be considered timely.
- Technical Specs: Diskettes and CDs must meet the Department’s technical specifications.
- Documentation: All diskette or CD submissions must be accompanied by the affidavits found on the report cover page.
