Borough Council Meeting Minutes Summary Date: Thursday, April 10, 2025 Time: 7:00 PM Location: Council Chambers Attendees Present: President Sean Burke, Vice President Brady Leahey, Jeffrey Ketner, David Jacobs, Clay Gingrich, Walter Kalista III (via phone), William Kitt. Also Present: Borough Manager Ethan Imhoff, Borough Secretary Patricia J. Duron, Solicitor Nathan Karn, Mayor Joseph Dodson (via phone), Finance Director Stacy Wert, Chief Christopher Storm, Fire Marshal Amy Hazlett. Absent: Director of Community Development Andrew Holodnik and Director of Community Relations and Events Melanie Ramsey. Key Updates & Reports Manager’s Report (Ethan Imhoff) Peoples’ Natural Gas Project: The contractor cold-patched streets in the fall; repairs must now meet Borough Ordinance standards. Gas company representative will be notified. Canal Basin Park: Wolf-Kuhn Foundation contributed to roof replacement on the performance pavilion. Holiday Hills Development: Residents will receive a survey from the Borough regarding recreational parks. 818 N. Montgomery Street: A report on this property will be presented at the May Council meeting. Finance Director Report (Stacy Wert) Report included in meeting packet; no additional comments. Chief of Police Report (Christopher Storm) Presented March monthly report. Fire Marshal Report (Amy Hazlett) Burning ban lifted. Only recreational fires allowed in the Borough. No brush burning permitted. Spring brush pickup continues through May 27th. Mayor’s Report (Joseph Dodson) Thanked Police Department and Manager Imhoff. Blight Committee Update (William Kitt) Seeks community input. Adopted eight criteria to identify blighted properties. Leydig Hardware participating in grant paint donation program — volunteers paint homes awarded grants. Comprehensive Plan Committee Update (Ethan Imhoff) Met with DCED to explore resources for update process. Draft expected around May 1, 2025.
