Amphitheater Reservation & Guidelines Summary

This document outlines the rules, fees, and application process for reserving the park amphitheater in Canal Basin Park, Hollidaysburg, PA.

Application Process

  • An application must be completed and approved before use.
  • Applications must be filed with the Borough Manager at least 30 days prior to the event date.
  • Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Confirmation is provided only upon receipt of payment.

Priority Use Schedule

The Borough Manager has discretion over scheduling based on this priority order:

  1. First Priority: Borough use
  2. Second Priority: Borough-affiliated activities (e.g., Hollidaysburg Area Arts Council, Hollidaysburg Alumni Community Band)
  3. Third Priority: Non-profit community use
  4. Fourth Priority: For-profit community use

Fees and Deposits

  • Residents: $50/hour (4-hour minimum, 8-hour maximum)
  • Non-residents: $75/hour (4-hour minimum, 8-hour maximum)
  • Security Deposit: $100 (refundable)

Responsibilities of the User

  • Liability insurance is required: minimum $500,000 combined single limit per occurrence, with an annual aggregate of no less than $1,000,000.
  • Activity must be restricted to the time(s) and date specified on the application.
  • No alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, or smoking are permitted.
  • Physical changes to the performance pavilion require written approval.

Responsibilities of the Provider (Borough Manager)

  • Must cooperate and schedule worthwhile community activities in everyone’s best interest.
  • Must carefully review each application.
  • Must provide the authorized representative with a list of prior commitments when preparing the schedule.

Additional Rules

  • All Borough regulations apply; members of the party are not exempt from park rules.
  • Vehicles must be restricted to the parking lot.
  • Reservations made less than one week in advance are not eligible for refunds.
  • Refunds for other reservations must be requested at least one week in advance and are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
