Overview
The Pennsylvania Department of State has released the 2025 Campaign Finance Reporting Dates. This schedule applies to candidates for state and local offices, political committees, and lobbyists. It is not applicable to candidates running for Federal offices.

*Note: The "6th Tuesday" reports are required only for candidates for statewide office, their authorized committees, or committees contributing to them.
Filing Requirements & Rules
- Timely Filing: To be accepted as timely filed, reports must be postmarked at least one day prior to the filing deadline.
- Notarized Cover Pages: These must be received in the Department's office within ten calendar days (including weekends) after the filing deadline. Postmarks are not accepted for cover pages.
- Special Elections: These do not follow the standard Cycle 1-7 dates. Candidates should contact the bureau for specific requirements.
- 24-Hour Reporting: Applies to candidates/committees receiving contributions of $500 or more, or making independent expenditures of $500 or more after the final pre-election report. Reports must be filed within 24 hours of receipt/expenditure.
Penalties
Late filing fees are assessed as follows:
- $20 per day for the first six days a report is late.
- $10 per day thereafter.
- Maximum penalty: $250 for each report.
